We wish to reward organisations that have created an open and inclusive culture in which people with disabilities are included in an organisation on an equal basis. A best practice organisation demonstrates a commitment to disability and seeks to transmit this commitment throughout their organisation. Best practice organisations have vision, integrity, determination and most importantly have implemented positive change. They have recognised how including people with disabilities is an important and desired future state for an organisation. They have taken responsibility to outline practical steps to achieve this vision in the workplace and have translated positive ideas into achievable action. Leadership is the process that enables cultural change in an organisation. Measurement of leadership for this section includes elements of cultural change such as a strategy that is inclusive of disability. It also includes the development of policies and procedures inclusive of disability and/or reference to corporate responsibility, which incorporates disability.
