Many employers wish to encourage applications from people with disabilities but may lack the time and knowledge to create open and inclusive recruitment practices. We wish to reward organisations that can demonstrate positive changes made to enable their organisation to attract suitably qualified people with disabilities. A best practice organisation incorporates reasonable accommodation or adaptations where necessary for an employee to perform the job to the best of their ability. A best practice organisation ensures their recruitment process is non-discriminatory and inclusive for all; for example, placing job adverts online to make them accessible for people with visual impairments etc. They do this by looking closely at every step involved in the recruitment process.
